Make Obsolete After Reading is an independent newsletter launched in August 2025 by literaryluddite (FKA @ModernIdiot on TikTok, and many other things on many other platforms over the years). It's a place for more long-form exploration of my thoughts on what I've been reading, watching, and thinking about.

Why is it paywalled?

This site runs on the Ghost platform and domain hosting paid for by the author. This was chosen to avoid the privacy and marketing implications, and ideological allegiances, of other free-to-creators newsletter platforms. Your support makes running the site possible by ensuring the cost is subsidised by readers. Thank you!

What's behind the paywall?

By becoming a paid subscriber, you will receive:
